Mastering Cost per Track at 5, 10, 20 and 50 Masters a Month

Start with the prices you can trace

At the time of writing (October 2026): Ditto’s support page lists $5 per downloaded master with a free full preview and no subscription; RoEx’s help centre lists $7.99 per download or Pro at $24.99 a month; LANDR’s mastering page says a single track costs $10; eMastered’s help centre lists $39 a month, $19 a month on a 12-month term, or $156 upfront for a year.

Loopin Mastering Unlimited is $10 a month or $59 a year, and mastering, previews and A/B are free. Regional pricing exists everywhere, and LANDR’s subscription tiers are published inconsistently, so I left them out. Check each pricing page before you buy.

Per-track services: multiply, and it scales straight up

Ditto at $5: 5 masters is $25, 10 is $50, 20 is $100, 50 is $250. RoEx credits at $7.99: $39.95, $79.90, $159.80, $399.50. LANDR single tracks at $10: $50, $100, $200, $500. The cost per master never falls, which is the whole story of pay-per-track.

That is fine at one or two masters a month. It is a poor fit once you master for clients every week, since each revision needs another master, and often another charge.

Flat plans: divide, and it shrinks as you scale

RoEx Pro at $24.99 is $5.00 a track at 5 masters, $2.50 at 10, $1.25 at 20 and $0.50 at 50. eMastered at $19 a month on the 12-month term is $3.80, $1.90, $0.95 and $0.38; the $156 yearly price is $13 a month, so $2.60, $1.30, $0.65 and $0.26.

On a month-to-month $39 plan, eMastered is $7.80, $3.90, $1.95 and $0.78. The pattern: flat plans lose to $5 a track below about 4 masters and win clearly above 8. eMastered also adds manual controls and reference mastering, which Loopin does not.

Where Loopin lands on the same grid

On the $59 yearly plan (about $4.92 a month) it is $0.98 a track at 5, $0.49 at 10, $0.25 at 20 and $0.10 at 50. On $10 a month: $2.00, $1.00, $0.50, $0.20. It is the lowest number on this page at every volume, though that is a price, not a quality verdict.

Before you pay anything, master the track free with Loopin: previews and A/B are free and unlimited, and downloads are capped at 1 per rolling 24 hours with no account, 2 with a free account. For under a few masters a month, that cap may be all you need. BandLab is also free.

Find your break-even in one line

Divide the plan price by $5 and you have the point where it beats Ditto. $59 a year (about $4.92 a month) beats $5 a track at one master a month. $24.99 beats $7.99 a credit from the fourth download. $19 a month beats $5 a track from the fourth master.

Most client work lands above that line. If you do 10 a month, the question is not whether to use a flat plan but which one gives you the file you need, which leads to the next section. Test before you commit: run a mix through the free masterer and see whether you need a paid plan at all.

Price the file, not just the plan

Loopin exports a 16-bit WAV at about −14 LUFS; Ditto says its download is a 24-bit WAV. If a client or distributor wants 24-bit, that changes the maths, and Loopin is not the pick. Loopin also takes a stereo mixdown only, with no stems and no batch mode.

Automatic masters are a fast first pass and client preview, not a replacement for an engineer on a record that matters. Read how much mastering costs for the human-engineer side of the price list.
