About Loopin
Updated October 2026
Loopin is a songwriting app for iPhone, plus a set of free web tools for finishing songs. This page explains what we make and how we write the guides on this site.
What we make
- The Loopin app for iPhone keeps each song's beat, lyrics, takes and versions together, and moves songs from Idea to In progress to Done. It's free to start on the App Store, with an optional Loopin Pro upgrade sold through Apple. What is Loopin?
- Loopin Mastering: free online mastering. Add a mix, pick a feel, compare it with your original at matched loudness and download the master.
- Key & BPM Finder: reads the key, Camelot code and tempo of an audio file.
- LUFS & True Peak Meter: measures integrated loudness, loudness range and true peak, and shows what each streaming platform would do to a track.
- Kickoff and Jamming: three random words and a beat, for when the first line won't come.
- Project Jade: an AI mixing agent we're building. It isn't released yet; it's open by waitlist.
How we write the guides
The blog is written by the Loopin team for people finishing their own songs at home. A few rules apply to every post:
- Dated facts. Platform rules, loudness targets and competitor prices change. Where a post states one, it says when it was checked, links the source where there is one, and says “about” or “as of” rather than presenting a figure as permanent.
- Official vs measured. Some loudness figures are published by the platform itself; others come from independent measurement. We label the difference, and our loudness pages all follow one internal fact sheet so they don't contradict each other.
- Outcomes, not internals. When we describe our own tools we say what they do for your track, not how they're built.
- Our own products are ours. When a post compares Loopin with other apps or services, we say that we make Loopin, and we describe competitors from their own published pages wherever we can.
- No invented numbers. If we don't have a reliable figure, we say so, or tell you how to measure it yourself.
