Listen for any loss of intended low-end weight as you sweep the filter up — stop as soon as you notice the track losing body, since the goal is removing rumble, not bass.

Step 2: address the 250-500 Hz buildup

Sweep a narrow boost through this range while listening for where the mix sounds most congested, then apply a wide, gentle cut — 1.5 to 2 dB across roughly an octave — centered there. This is the most common single issue in AI-generated exports.

Don't skip this step even if the track sounds fine on first listen; congestion here is often more obvious on smaller speakers than on studio monitors.

Step 3: check for harshness around 4-7 kHz

Solo the vocal, if there is one, and sweep for a piercing or fatiguing resonance in this range. A narrow 2–3 dB cut at the specific frequency you find typically resolves it without dulling the vocal's overall clarity.

If there's no vocal, check lead synths or any prominent melodic element for the same issue — it can appear on instrumental content too.

Step 4: add presence, but only if it's genuinely missing

If the track still feels dull after the corrections above, a small boost of 1–2 dB around 8–10 kHz can add air and clarity.
