Unlimited Online Mastering Cost: What You Really Pay per Month (2026)

Turn the headline price into a monthly figure

Pricing pages lead with the friendliest number. eMastered’s help centre explains why: its yearly plan shows about $13 a month, but you are billed $156 once. The 12-month plan billed monthly is $19, and the no-commitment monthly plan is $39, at the time of writing (October 2026).

So the same service is $13, $19 or $39 a month depending on whether you can commit and pay upfront. Divide the total you pay in the first year by 12 and you have the true price.

Check the four catches before you pay

One: is the term 12 months, and can you cancel mid-way? Two: what is the refund window? eMastered’s help centre says 14 days, and only if you have mastered fewer than four tracks. Three: which export formats are included on your tier? Four: is “unlimited” masters, downloads, or both?

Screenshot the answers with the date. Plans change, and a screenshot of what you agreed to is worth more than an email to support three months later. Also check the renewal date and set a reminder one week before it, because annual plans renew at whatever the price is then, not the price you saw.

Do the break-even against pay-per-file

Ditto charges $5 a download with no subscription, per its support article. Against that, the $39 monthly plan breaks even at 8 masters a month, the $19 plan at 4, and the $156 yearly plan at about 3. Below that, pay per file is cheaper.

Most producers finishing a track a week sit at 4 a month, so the choice is a 12-month commitment or no commitment at all. Be honest about whether you will still be making music next August. If you are not sure, the no-commitment plan costs more per month but cannot cost you a year.

Price the free route against it

Mastering, previews and A/B on Loopin are free and unlimited; downloads on the free tier are capped at 1 per rolling 24 hours with no account, or 2 with a free account. If you can plan your downloads, master the track free and pay nothing.

If you need more than 2 downloads a day, Loopin Mastering Unlimited is $10 a month or $59 a year (about $4.92 a month; check the pricing page for your region). At 10 masters a month that is $1.00 or less per master. BandLab is another free option; check its current limits in the app.

Decide with a ten-minute test

Take one finished mix and run it through the free tier of the plan you are considering, and through the free online masterer. Match the loudness, then listen to the loudest chorus on earbuds and on a car or phone speaker. If you cannot hear a difference worth paying for, you have your answer. For the Loopin side of the test, run it through the free masterer and use the loudness-matched switch so loudness does not decide the winner.

Keep one rule: never prepay a year for a tool you tested on one song. Test on two different genres first. Automatic mastering, paid or free, does not fix a bad mix, so if both results sound off, go back to the mix.

Frequently asked questions
