CloudBounce Is Gone: 3 Ways to Master Your FL Studio Tracks Now

Know what actually closed

According to Image-Line’s own notice, CloudBounce closed its operations permanently on 30 June 2025, and logging in to the CloudBounce and BounceCast websites stopped on 1 July 2025. If you never downloaded your old masters, they are not coming back from there. Check your hard drive and email before anything else.

The same notice says the technology lives on inside FL Studio, and that full features need an FL Cloud Plus or Pro subscription. So the choice now is between that, a free masterer and a pay-per-file service. Our CloudBounce alternative post has the longer comparison; this one is the quick pick.

Way 1: use the mastering already inside FL Studio

Drag your premaster onto an empty audio track, then go to File > Export > Master. Image-Line says every FL Studio licence includes at least the “default” mastering reference, and the FL Studio manual describes extra options for FL Cloud subscribers. Check your own account to see which tier you have, because the notice and the manual word the tiers slightly differently.

This is the lowest-friction route if you already pay for FL Cloud and finish a handful of tracks a month. The catch is that you stay inside one DAW’s workflow, and a quick A/B on a second system is harder when the file is stuck in a project.

Way 2: master the export free, then A/B it

If you do not want a subscription, master the track free with Loopin: drop in a stereo mixdown, pick a feel (Warm, Punchy, Crisp, Wide, Vintage, Club, Lo-fi or Cinematic) and flip the loudness-matched Original vs Mastered switch. Previews and A/B are free and unlimited, so you can audition all eight feels on one beat before you spend a download.

The export is a 16-bit WAV at about −14 LUFS with a −1 dBTP ceiling (Punchy about −11, Club about −10). Downloads are capped on the free tier: 1 per rolling 24 hours with no account, 2 with a free account. For beat tapes, that is fine. For a 12-track client EP in one afternoon, it is not.

Way 3: pay per file only when a track is worth it

Ditto’s mastering page and support article describe a free full-length preview and a $5 download with no subscription, at the time of writing (October 2026). That is sensible for one release a quarter: you hear the whole master first and pay only if you keep it.

Do the maths before it becomes a habit. At $5 a file, 10 masters a month is $50. A subscription or an unlimited plan starts to win somewhere between 3 and 8 masters a month, depending on the plan, so check each vendor’s pricing page for your region.

Export a premaster that survives any of the three

Bounce the stereo mix with the master limiter off and peaks around −6 dBFS. A mix that already hits 0 dBFS gives every masterer less room and invites clipped 808s. Leave the file at the project sample rate and skip dither, normalising and fades you did not intend.

Name the file with the BPM and a version number so you can find it in six months, and keep one untouched copy. If a track sounds worse after mastering in any route, it is almost always the mix: an overloaded bass, a harsh top end. Fix it in the mix, then run it again.

Pick by how many tracks you finish a month

One to three tracks a month: try the free online masterer first and keep FL’s built-in route as your second opinion. Four to ten: FL Cloud or a flat-rate plan beats paying per file. More than ten for clients: see our free vs paid mastering breakdown before you commit.

Whatever you pick, A/B at matched loudness and do one blind round. Louder always sounds better for the first few seconds, which is exactly how people end up paying for nothing.

What happened to CloudBounce?

Image-Line says CloudBounce closed permanently on 30 June 2025 and website logins stopped on 1 July 2025. Its mastering technology moved into FL Studio.

Is there a free CloudBounce alternative?

Yes. Loopin Mastering is free to master and preview with unlimited A/B; free downloads are capped at 1 per rolling 24 hours with no account, or 2 with a free account.

Does FL Studio have built-in mastering?

Yes. Image-Line says every FL Studio licence includes the default mastering reference, and full features need FL Cloud Plus or Pro. Use File > Export > Master.

At the time of writing (October 2026), Ditto lists a free full-length preview and a $5 download with no subscription. Check its page for current terms.

What level should I export from FL Studio before mastering?

Peak around -6 dBFS on the master with the limiter off, as a stereo mixdown. That leaves room for the masterer to add loudness without clipping.
